Instructions
1
In a mixing bowl, combine besan, turmeric, red chili powder, salt, and water; whisk into a smooth, lump-free batter of pouring consistency.
2
Add chopped onion, tomato, green chili, coriander leaves, and cumin seeds; mix well into the batter.
3
Heat a non-stick tawa or griddle over medium heat and grease lightly with oil.
4
Pour a ladleful of batter onto the hot tawa and spread it into a thin, even circle using the back of the ladle.
5
Drizzle a little oil around the edges and cook until the bottom turns golden and crisp, about 2-3 minutes.
6
Flip and cook the other side until golden brown and cooked through.
7
Repeat with remaining batter to make more chillas.
8
Serve hot, garnished with roasted peanuts, alongside red chutney.
