Beef Burger with Melted Cheese and Onions (Gluten-Free)
A pan-seared beef patty topped with melted Gruyere and soft caramelized onions, tucked into a gluten-free bun with Dijon mustard and butter lettuce. The French bistro-style burger leans on slow-cooked onions and nutty cheese for depth.

Instructions
1
Prep
Shape the ground beef into a single patty about 3/4 inch thick and season both sides with salt and black pepper.
2
Saute
Melt the butter in a small skillet over medium-low heat, add the onion, and cook 12-15 minutes until soft, deeply golden, and jammy.
3
Sear
Add the olive oil and sear the patty over medium-high heat for 3 minutes per side until a dark crust forms and the centre reaches medium doneness.
4
Melt
Lay the Gruyere cheese over the patty, cover the skillet, and cook over low heat 1 minute until glossy. Toast the gluten-free bun halves in the skillet 1 minute until golden.
5
Build
Spread Dijon mustard on the bottom bun, layer the butter lettuce, set the cheese-topped patty on top, and pile on the caramelized onions.
6
Plate
Close the burger with the top bun half and place on a plate to serve.
